Commitments are annual and on a volunteer basis, reaffirmed every Section 30 Conference. To learn more about our current staff, click their names!
  • Advisory Liaison Brother John Tran: Coordinates a twice-annual meeting with advisors in Section 30 - may be in-person or a conference call. Facilitate discussions on advisory needs, support, and resources. Keeps advisors connected and informed on APO news on the local and national level. Works with chapters to evaluate their advisor/chapter utility, working with students to evaluate what makes successful advisor/student partnerships, and what does not - helping develop improvement plans as needed.
  • Alumni Chair Brother Cassie Harmon: Coordinates alumni events within Section 30. Facilitates alumni visits and involvement with their local chapter(s). Works with National Office to maintain current database of alumni contact information, home addresses, and personal interests/skills. Ensures alumni involvement in section-wide events, and chapter events as applicable. Assists chapters with keeping their alumni records current and updated, and helps them to plan chapter alumni events. Helps to inform alumni and encourage alumni giving.
  • Extension Chair POSITION AVAILABLE! Inquire by emailing Section Chair!: Coordinates monthly meetings with active petitioning groups, interest groups, or potential startups in Section 30. Touches base with extension group Sponsors monthly and helps keep groups on track with the BANC guide. Keeps meeting notes and updates Section 30 Chair after each meeting.
  • Fellowship Chair Brother Karen Tran: Facilitates quarterly fellowship events between the Section 30 chapters. Encourages chapters to visit one another and facilitates transportation between them. Coordinates a bi-annual challenge to encourage inter-chapter activities.
  • Fundraising Chair Brother Cindy Grubenhoff: Acts as a resource to all chapters in Section 30 regarding fundraising opportunities and best practices. Counsels and guides chapter members to assist them in improving fundraising results. Is informed about fundraising ethical guidelines and is prepared to assist students when they have questions about fundraising ethics.
  • History Chair Brother Oriana Meldrum: Compiles and maintains a section history and helps chapters document their own histories.
  • Leadership Chair Brother Leigha Larsen: Visits chapters annually to share National APO leadership development opportunities and programs - including APO LEADS, APO IMPACT webinars, the APO BOLD initiative, the Chapter Organizer program, Basic Training and APO LEADS Content Training opportunities for alumni, and more. Coordinates conferences held within Section 30 - namely Section 30 Conference, and Region 8 Conference (as applicable). Responsible for meeting with student conference chair(s) monthly and keeping meeting notes to be shared with Section 30 Chair and the conference committee. More frequent meetings may be necessary closer to the event. Also helps to coordinate Section travel and participation in Regional and National conferences.
  • PR Chair Brother Ruth Hong Brininger: Helps to get APO in the local news and assists chapters with making contact with the media.
  • Service Chair Brother Alex Beckley: Is in tune with service opportunities within Section 30. Forwards events and special needs to local chapter(s) as they see fit. Helps chapters to evaluate their service program, and to grow (or start) their independent programs. Ensures chapters are aware of National service programs, projects, partnerships, and missions. Local resource for Spring Youth Service Day and National Service Week efforts within Section 30.
