Brother Karen Tran has been serving as Section 30's Extension Chair since her appointment on November 2, 2016. Commitment to this position is reaffirmed annually and on a volunteer basis at every Section 30 Conference. The duties of the Section 30 Extension Chair are defined as follows:

Facilitates quarterly fellowship events between the Section 30 chapters. Encourages chapters to visit one another and facilitates transportation between them. Coordinates a bi-annual challenge to encourage inter-chapter activities.

What chapter are you from, and when did you pledge? I pledged in Spring 2015 at Epsilon Xi at CSU.

Did you hold any leadership roles in your chapter as a student? I was the House Representative for the Diamonds and I participated in committees to help create events between our chapter and other organizations around campus.

What is (or was) your major? Are you pursuing further education, or are you all done? I double majored in Spanish and Economics. I'm still unsure whether I want to continue my education yet.

What is your job? I work in Mortgage Servicing at the corporate headquarters of FirstBank, where I handle payments and specialize in helping Spanish speaking customers.

What are your hobbies? I love to play videogames, solve riddles, go on adventures with my friends, and do community service where I can!

Why did the Section Fellowship Chair opportunity appeal to you? I first joined APO for the fellowship. The friends that I made in my brothers are some of the most important people in my life now. I wouldn't be who I am today without the friendship I found in APO and this position is my opportunity to give back to my brothers!

Anything else you want to share with your brothers? One of my favorite memories was when we were driving to Missouri for Regionals. I chose the route (which was the first mistake) and the highway was so hilly and awful that I laughed until I cried!
