Brother Alex Beckley has been serving as Section 30's Service Chair since the staff's inception on October 22, 2016. Commitment to this position is reaffirmed annually and on a volunteer basis at every Section 30 Conference. The duties of the Section 30 Service Chair are defined as follows:

The Section Service Chair is in tune with service opportunities within Section 30. Forwards events and special needs to local chapter(s) as they see fit. Helps chapters to evaluate their service program, and to grow (or start) their independent programs. Ensures chapters are aware of National service programs, projects, partnerships, and missions. Local resource for Spring Youth Service Day and National Service Week efforts within Section 30.

What chapter are you from, and when did you pledge?
I pledged Epsilon Xi at CSU in Fall 2012.

Did you hold any leadership roles in your chapter as a student? During my time in Epsilon Xi I served as Corresponding Secretary for 3 semesters (maintaining communication between other chapters), and Public Relations Chair for 1 year. Beyond this I planned Epsilon Xi's trip and fundraising for the Region 8 Conference in 2014.

What is (or was) your major? Are you pursuing further education, or are you all done? I majored in Languages and Literature concentrating in Spanish and minored in Biomedical Science. In the future I plan to pursue a medical career as a Physician Assistant.

What is your job? I am a medical program specialist at HighPointe Services, an enrichment program for adults with developmental disabilities in Fort Collins, CO.

What are your hobbies? I'm an avid reader and crafter. In my free time I love to crochet or try new DIY projects from pinterest. My secret love in make up and I love creating new and dramatic looks for my self or my friends!

Why did the Service Chair opportunity appeal to you? I've been volunteering in some capacity since I was 10 years old. Once I came to college, I found APO only because I was looking for somewhere to do service. When it boils down to it, service is what brought us all together. Most of my best friends are also brothers, not only from Epsilon Xi, but from other chapters in the section. I hope that as Service Chair I can encourage every chapter to branch out and grow as a section.

Anything else you want to share with your brothers? I graduated from CSU in December 2015 and now spend my days as a full time adult! If you needed to know three things about me it would be these: Harry Potter is everything, I'm an extroverted-introvert, and I will eat anything that contains cheese or broccoli.
