Brother Michelle Norris has been serving as Section 30 Chair since her election on September 27th, 2014. This position is elected by the students annually and accepted on a volunteer basis at every Section 30 Conference. The duties of the Section Chair are defined in the National Bylaws.

What chapter are you from, and when did you pledge? I was a part of Mu Pi's recharter effort starting in April 2008, and initiated with Mu Pi's chartering in October 2009.

Did you hold any leadership roles in your chapter as a student? During my time in Mu Pi I served as Secretary for 1 year, VP Service for 1 year, President for 1 year, then Historian/Webmaster in my last semester.

What is (or was) your major? Are you pursuing further education, or are you all done? I majored in Engineering with a Civil Specialty and graduated with a Bachelors, but not before I wasted three years as a Chemical Engineering major! Chemistry and I are not friends.

What is your job? I am a Civil Engineer for the US Bureau of Reclamation. Forget everything you think you know about civil engineering - I spend most of my days designing pressure pipe systems and canals for water conveyance!

What are your hobbies? I love working early mornings so I can enjoy getting outside with my super cute dog, Bella, every afternoon. I love to hike, walk, and run. On weekends my hubby bubby and I enjoy video games and cooking up delicious carby meals. I also not-so-secretly love nail art and collecting high waisted skirts.

Why did the Section 30 Chair opportunity appeal to you? Volunteering has always been a part of my life! I was a Girl Scout through grade school, and obviously an APO brother through university. When I graduated, I wanted to find a volunteering opportunity where I knew I could make a difference. I volunteered with a nonprofit for several years, but ultimately have found Section 30 Chair to be the most rewarding and impactful in my community. I love being a part of the professional and personal development we all go through as students in APO, and enjoy the continuing to grow personally with every new semester of challenges. It's just an honor to work with our great students!
