Mobility Challenge: Take the Challenge! |
| Date: Oct 21, 2015 at 8:00am to 7:00pm | |
The Mobility Challenge is an annual community awareness event that highlights the impacts of mobility restrictions on daily life. On October 21, 2015, students and faculty will take on one of four challenges for the day, challenges that allow them to experience some of the daily struggles experienced by those with mobility restrictions. The challenges this year are: 1) wearing arm-restricting straps, 2) communicating non-verbally, 3) using crutches, and 4) navigating the University without using stairs. Starting at 8:00 A.M., participants will take pictures of themselves completing everyday tasks as part of a photo-scavenger hunt, documenting their experiences for social media and other outlets.
If you can, come to the field event as well! From 4:00-7:00 P.M., an open field event will be held with food, games, guest speakers, performances, and other fun activities.
