ALS Memorial Lecture with Lori's Hands

Date: Apr 24, 2014 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Thursday April 24, 2014 at 6pm at the UD STAR Campus, Lori's Hands and the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter will present a memorial lecture to honor the legacy of ALS patient and former UD faculty member and Associate Dean of A&S, Dr. Ron Wenger. Ron and his wife, Sherry, maintained infectiously positive attitudes in the face of Ron's diagnosis with Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and were both willing and eager to share their story with Lori’s Hands volunteers, UD nursing and physical therapy students, and other future caregivers. Carrying on this spirit, this memorial lecture will include a tribute to Ron, an ALS 101 presentation by the ALS Association's regional nurse coordinator Gail Houseman, and a talk by ALS patient Chuck Morris, who will share his story of living with ALS. During the time of the lecture, parking is free at the UD STAR Campus. The UD shuttle bus runs from Main Campus to STAR Campus (540 S. College Avenue, Newark, DE 19713) throughout the evening.
