Volunteers will be helping the Green Week Committee, conduct trash-audits in several residence halls. During the trash audits, volunteers will be weighing trash from the halls, sorting through it, taking out any items that could be recyclable, then weighing these recyclables to get a percentage by weight of how many items that were thrown away that could have been recycled. Volunteers will be provided with gloves and will NOT be sorting through any bags that appear to have bathroom trash, old food, or any other nasty contents. Trash-audit leaders from MU EcoReps will be helping volunteers during the audit in case of any confusion about what is or is not recyclable or about how the process of auditing works.
