Moharimet Elementary school offers a number of enrichment opportunities for our students. One of those is our Maple Sugaring program. This program began with one classroom boiling sap collected in our parking lot in the 90's. In 2001 teachers and community members built the Sugar House which has become a staple of our school. Located just steps from the entrance, our Sugar House comes alive from February through the end of March as our students bring the sap they have collected to be boiled. Our sugaring programs is interwoven throughout our entire school community through science, math, reading, writing, sustainability, music, art, PE, and so much more! The proceeds from our pancake breakfast support the upkeep of our Sugar House and sugaring program. It is a true community event with more than 1,000 breakfasts being served!
