The Day of Silence is a nationwide event where people take a vow of silence to highlight the silencing and erasure of LGBTQ people at school and in the nation as a whole. To participate you would remain silent for the whole day unless abosultely necessary. If you have a presentation you can talk, essentially the goal is to not talk frivolously. If you want to participate make sure to stop by Centre's Pride Alliance's cowan tables to pick up your sticker to indicate you are taking a vow of silence.
