During the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, civil rights activists (of many racial backgrounds) rode on public interstate buses throughout the south in order to challenge the racially segregated bus system. During his presentation, Dr. David Fankhauser will chronicle his time as a Freedom Rider. He will discuss the struggles, triumphs, and sacrifices of fighting for equality and standing in solidarity against injustices.
