ABOUT THE GARDEN: Peace Meal is a community garden of 2.5 acres with a greenhouse, beehive, orchard, specialty plots, and a number of gardens tended by people from the community. Learn a little about sustainability and enjoy gardening for a few hours under the kind guidance of Dr. Rebecca Glasscock! Weather Policy: If it is below 40°, storming heavily, or Snowmageddon happens again, gardening will likely be canceled. I will do my best to let everyone signed up know in advance if this happens, but please be flexible! Dr. G has agreed to find us something to do if it is really cold though so canceling might not necessarily be an option. Directions from Dr. G.: From UK, take Virginia (which turns into Red Mile and then into Forbes). Take a left at the intersection of Forbes/Leestown onto Leestown Road. Just past the New Circle underpass, you will see Leestown Middle School and then the VA. Between the two is Opportunity Way. Turn left on Opportunity Way (it leads to BCTC-Leestown Campus). As you approach the campus, you will see Parking Lot A – Student Parking on the right. Turn onto this parking lot and go ALL the way through it. At the end of the parking lot, you will see a gravel road and a chainlink gate. The gate should be open. Take the gravel road to the garden. If you have any questions or concerns.
