Water Walk- UNICEF

Date: Apr 15, 2017 at 10:00am to 12:00pm
Join UNICEF at ISU on a walk this Saturday to spread awareness about the water crisis around the world! We will be starting at the water tower with our empty jugs/cups and walking to a nearby stream to fill them up. We will then walk back to the water tower to symbolize the journey that many people around the world must take in order to gain access to water that is not even safe to drink. After the walk, join us for a cookout at the Hancock Stadium parking lot! Tickets for the cookout cost $10. All of the proceeds will be donated to Water to Thrive, an organization that builds wells in communities in Africa that would not have access to water otherwise. We have already contributed to the construction of two wells in Ethiopia. Help us raise enough to build a third! You get 2 hours for the actual walk and one additional hour if you go to the cookout. If you do want to go to the cookout, you need to RSVP to either me (Sarah Misurac) or Gena Rivera, President of UNICEF at ISU so they know how much food to get. You can email Gena at illinoisstateunicef@gmail.com or check out UNICEF's facebook page, Unicef at Illinois State University. Remember to bring a cup, jug, or something else to carry water in and come out to support an awesome cause this Saturday!! We will be meeting at the water tower at 10am. Email or text me with ANY questions! smisurac@gmail.com 779-225-8406
