Please meet at the BCD and leave around 8:30am to get there on time! The American Red Cross along with the Bloomington and Normal Fire Departments are hosting a free smoke alarm installation event in Bloomington-Normal. During this event you will be installing smoke alarms in homes, going over safety information with residents, and documenting the supplies used. The training will be provided at the event before heading out to the homes. Volunteers will be divided into groups of three, and be given routes of homes to visit. You may have to drive to the homes depending on how close they are to each other. They also require background checks to be done on one team member, so if you haven't had one done you'll be placed in a group with a member of the fire department or the Red Cross.
