One of my family's good family friends, Logan Vallee, is a 16 year old boy who was born with hypo plastic left heart syndrome. This is also known as half a heart. Recently, he underwent a heart transplant and is in the hospital recovering. Although there are some complications, he is doing as well as can be expected. I am in a service organization where I have been collecting donations for the family for gas to travel the hour+ drive to Lurie's Childrens Hospital in Chicago from our hometown, gift cards for food for his family, parking at the hospital etc. The expected cost of the transplant was $100,000 so I'm trying to help out in every way possible from school since I cannot be there in person.
