Salutations APO! This Service project is from the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago and here is what we will be doing in this helpful but fun filled day: In North Lawndale they are holding a Safety Fair where they are supporting fire prevention and they need our help. There will be six information stations that will be set-up for participants to learn vital safety tips about creating a disaster plan/evacuation route, using a fire extinguisher, building a disaster kit, installing window film, and basic first aid. Basically, we may choose to be table leaders or assistants, depending on what you want to do and what you are good at. Either we are helping to present topics that include using a fire extinguisher, building a disaster kit, installing window film, and basic first aid or we are helping out with everything from set-up, take-down, registration, and fire safety kit distribution. * Please Register as a volunteer here: http://american.redcross.org/site/Calendar?view=Detail&id=101619 **Since registration starts at 8:00 am, we are meeting up in front of the UIC Forum at 7:00 am and we are taking the 12 Bus over there which takes about 40min. Lets prevent fires in Chicago together! :)
