Join Uptown United, 48th Ward Alderwoman Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth, and local businesses and organizations on Argyle Street as we continue Uptown's annual tradition (going back 40+ years) of celebrating the Lunar New Year! To welcome the Year of the Dragon, we’ll be hosting the Lunar New Year Parade on Saturday February17th (kick-off at 1:00pm sharp at Argyle & Winthrop) featuring 20 local community groups, cultural institutions, dancers and performers! 8:00am-10:00am - Volunteers needed to assist with stage and barricade set-up (some moderate lifting required) 12:00pm - 2:30pm - Parade Marshals - serve as safety monitors along the parade route and busy intersections.
