Chicago River Day

Date: May 8, 2021 at 8:30am to 10:00am
The river provides critical habitat for all sorts of animals from migratory birds to beavers, mink, turtles, and over 75 species of fish. Its health is rebounding after years of abuse, but litter remains a stubborn problem. Studies show areas without litter deter future littering, so one of the most important ways to deter littering is to clean it up. Every year since 1992, Friends give the Chicago and Calumet Rivers a good spring cleaning on Chicago River Day, part of our effort to create a Litter Free Chicago River. I have personally signed up for the one on 400 North Michigan Avenue, if other members want to do the service project together. May 8, 2021 is our 29th annual Chicago River Day. Register today! https://www.chicagoriver.org/get-involved/volunteer/chicago-river-day Individual registration is required. Look at the map, sites are listed alphabetically in the key to the left, or zoom into the area of the river you'd like to help to see available sites. When you click on the site pin, you'll see the link to the registration page for that location. Sites will be added as they are finalized.
