Project: Community Space Beautification at Lincoln Park Conservatory |
| Date: Nov 1, 2025 at 9:00am to 12:00pm | |
Volunteers at this project will support the staff of the conservatory with whatever they need to maintain the greenhouse, therein also sustaining the quality of programs offered by the Conservatory. Investing in greenspace promotes greater environmental awareness and welcoming and safe spaces such as this one promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Chicago Cares’ volunteer projects are opportunities to connect with our neighbors, challenge our assumptions, change how we think and feel about our city, and inspire action – all while making a tangible, positive impact through service.
During the project, volunteers will assist where needed at the conservatory with tasks that may include weeding, prepping for garden shows, helping various greenhouses and the grounds. By supporting the staff, you’ll play a role in sustaining the quality of programs offered by the organization. All tools, gloves, supplies and training are provided by the Lincoln Park Conservatory. This project is rain or shine and mostly indoor work, but volunteers may be outdoors at any time of the year. Volunteers should dress for the weather and dress in layers, as it can get warm inside or cool outside. Volunteers should also wear closed toed shoes and clothes they don't mind getting dirty.
