Project: 61st St. Farmers Market with Experimental Station

Date: Oct 18, 2025 at 7:30am to 11:30am
Join Chicago Cares and Experimental Station in supporting the 61st Street Farmers Market! The 61st Street Farmers Market is the first farmers market in Illinois to accept and promote Link, increasing access to fresh and healthy foods in the Woodlawn community. Through this engagement, volunteers will both learn more about food accessibility in the city and connect directly with Woodlawn community members. Volunteers may be engaged in various activities, such as market set up, greeting visitors, gardening, chef demo support, market tours, and market tear down. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting dirty and closed-toed shoes, as volunteers are expected to stand, kneel, and walk for most of the shift. Free street parking is available in the area, and volunteers will meet their leader at the red information booth on 61st street.
