Please join us! NMDP is hosting a registry drive at the University of Illinois Chicago the week of October 28th - November 1st ( 10 am - 2 pm each day in Student Center East). A blood stem cell transplant can cure blood cancer and 75 other blood diseases, but most people don't have a matching donor in the family. We are hoping to recruit lots of volunteers to help save lives by adding potential donors to the registry. Joining the registry is just a cheek swab and a fast cell phone form. For the lucky few who match a patient, donation is not painful and usually resembles plasma and platelet donation. There have been many lifesaving donors from UIC over the years and we hope to add more lifesavers at this drive. For anyone who wants to sign up for a one-hour shifts, they should select a 2-hour shift on the registration link and enter when they’ll be attending in the notes. You will need to attend mandatory Zoom meeting as training, you will receive service hours for that as well. I will put up the zoom link as soon as we receive it.
