Feed The People Project

Date: Apr 10, 2024 at 11:00am to 3:00pm
We are thrilled to announce an exciting initiative hosted by UMSL Sustainability and the Student Social Work Association: The Feed the People Project. This semester, we are focusing on cultivating and distributing food plants, and we are excited to share that we have already planted an impressive 25,000 plants, which are now sprouting and ready for the next phase of growth. Starting March 21st and continuing until April 11th, we will be transplanting sprouts into larger containers to support their development. We invite all students, faculty, and alumni to join us in this endeavor. Sharing this email and the attached flyers is encouraged as we may have missed a few folks! Volunteer shifts are available from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and we kindly request a minimum commitment of one hour. To help us coordinate volunteer coverage effectively, RSVP on Triton Connect and email Brianna Jones or UMSL Sustainability with your expected arrival time. All activities will take place at the community garden trailer located on South Campus. If arriving by car, please park in the basement of the South Campus Parking Garage and enter the garden through the metal gate. If walking, the garden is opposite the Nursing Administration Building, at the southern end of East Drive.
