The mission of the St. Louis Arc is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to lead better lives by providing a lifetime of high-quality services, family support, and advocacy. Book club gives adults the opportunity to learn to read, talk about books, and make friends in a fun community setting. Participants range from those who read well to those who do not read at all. Volunteers assist with sounding out words, following along with the story, and engaging in book discussions. This program is the only event that is self-led by volunteers (don't worry about this last portion- I lead the program for this location).
