Career Readiness Workshop with Apple: Ten Essentials of Presentation and Storytelling Dr. Jay Matheson, Education Development Executive, Apple This session provides a framework for thinking about the essential elements of presentation and storytelling. You will leave with some actionable ideas that you can use to better craft and deliver presentations that inform, persuade and connect with your audience. Speaker Bio: Dr. Jay Matheson is a Development Executive at Apple Inc., focusing on higher education throughout the United States. In this position, Jay is charged with helping customers create a strategic vision for mobile technology on campus and beyond. Jay partners with campus leadership teams and frequently presents on topics including the integration of technology in academia and the challenges of the 21st century workforce and economy. During his 14 year career at Apple, Jay has developed expertise in digital content, healthcare, athletics, and student marketing. As an instructor in Apple’s iOS Developer Academies, he has delivered storytelling and branding sessions throughout Brazil. He has also collaborated with some of the largest public university iPad programs in the US and, as part of his doctoral dissertation, researched methods to bring app development instruction beyond computer science departments. Currently, Jay is focused on working with colleges and universities to create innovative and sustainable mobile initiatives. Prior to joining Apple, Jay partnered with some of the top Hollywood movie studios to create viral marketing campaigns for new releases. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara, Jay majored in Communication with an emphasis in new technology and holds a Masters and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Lynn University in Florida.
