Good Neighbor Initiative

Date: Aug 17, 2015 at 4:00pm to 6:30pm
For the past 12 years, members of the Chapel Hill/Carrboro and UNC community have engaged student and non-student residents of the downtown residential neighborhoods in a pro-active initiative aimed at improving relationships and quality of life in these areas under the banner of the Good Neighbor Initiative. In the Neighborhood Walk Around: - You join a team of 3-5 other volunteers and get a free t-shirt - You get assigned a walking area in one of our target neighborhoods (Northside, Pine Knolls, Cameron-McCauley, and the southern MLK, North St, Columbia St, Dawes-Coolidge and Davie Circle areas) - You go door to door with your team and spend no more than 5 minutes at each house talking with and handing out information to student residents about what it means to be a good neighbor and a positive, contributing member of the community (at non-student residences you focus conversation on what the Good Neighbor Initiative is and how they can learn more and get questions answered) - You finish your assigned area and then join us for a free meal!
