Volunteers will be required to attend one 1.5 hour training session prior to the event. The training sessions will be held at the Morehead Planetarium at 5:30pm on Thursday, April 3 and 5pm on Monday, April 7. Additional training sessions can be held at the convenience of large groups that will be volunteering together as a group activity. On Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10am-3pm, the UNC campus will hold its largest science outreach event of the year – the UNC Science Expo! Coordinated by UNC’s Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, the Expo will engage the public in science, math, technology and engineering through hands-on activities, talks, lab tours, stage performances and more. All events are free and open to the public. Last year, over 10,000 people attended this fun-filled day. We expect even more this time! We will also be encouraging everyone to stay for the Carolina Spring Football Game at 3pm at Kenan Stadium. WHAT YOU'LL DO Engage pre-k to early elementary age children in fun and exciting games that teach basic scientific principles.
