Join PORCH in receiving, weighing, and organizing non-perishable and fresh food from the Food Bank and Retail Recovery partners. This program serves families with children in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools that are experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers will: -Help unload truck/vehicle with food -Weigh and record food according to specific procedures -Set up Food Bank/purchased food for sorting/stocking volunteers Closed-toed shoes are required. Please dress in clothing you feel comfortable moving around in. Please bring your own water. Volunteers who receive donations in the parking lot will be given a high-visibility vest.
