Join UNC Correctional Education Program and Our Journey, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting re-entry for formerly incarcerated individuals, for an immersive re-entry simulation where you'll experience the challenges of reintegrating into society after incarceration. Each participant will be assigned a unique identity and navigate real-world scenarios involving social partners like a parole officer, employers, and the DMV—all within a limited timeframe. This hands-on activity will give you firsthand insight into the complexities of post-incarceration life, with four rounds of dynamic interaction and decision-making.
