The Good Neighbor Initiative is seeking volunteers to assist in their annual community walk, where you will go door to door in near campus and downtown neighborhoods, and downtown neighborhoods. Their goal is to engage with students, discuss the importance of being good neighbors and the various expectations and responsibilities that accompany residing in a community. If you choose to volunteer at the community door-to-door walk, you do not need any previous experience with the door-to-door walk, as training will be provided. All that is needed is your commitment in assisting students as they reflect on intentional ways to contribute positively to the residential neighborhood they will be living in, learn and actively engage with local communities (ex: Northside, Pine Knolls, Columbia St, Dawes-Coolidge, Cameron-McCauley, North St, the southern MLK, and Davie Circle Areas).
