Join Habitat at our San Jose ReStore, located in the Environmental Innovation Center (1608 Las Plumas Avenue, San Jose, CA 95133). Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds are used to build homes, community, and hope locally and around the world. Typical ReStore volunteer activities include helping with store organization and retail inventory, cleaning and organizing, unloading donations from our truck, helping customers with their purchases, and special projects. No experience is necessary. COVID-19 Update: The health and safety of our volunteers, staff and community continues to be our number one priority. As of June 16, 2021, Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley asks all volunteers to bring a mask or face covering to their volunteer shift. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. Wear work clothes and sturdy, close-toed shoes. Bring a lunch (if applicable to your shift timing) and a refillable water bottle. Any necessary tools, safety equipment, and training are provided on your volunteer day. For safety reasons, all volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers under the age of 18 must bring a signed minor waiver form with them to the site. Minor waiver forms are available here: https://www.habitatebsv.org/hubfs/PDFs/Get%20Involved/2021%20Minor%20Waiver.pdf Click “Sign Up” at the bottom of this page to secure your volunteer space! https://eastbay.volunteerhub.com/?scrollToDate=9%2F18%2F2021&bookmarkEventId=13889246#eid13889246 Please sign up on Habitat for Humanity's website first, then sign in on here!
