Global Youth Service Day is the largest youth service and civic action event in the world and the only one that celebrates, expands, and sustains the capacity of all youth ages 5-25 and their communities to thrive by working together for the common good. The Plant Exchange encourages reuse, recycling and organic living. This community-wide, free event is where gardeners, landscapers, urban farmers, and beginners come to exchange plants, equipment and information about ways to make our urban environment more sustainable, beautiful, and healthy. Volunteers will help out with trimming, watering and arranging plants, and helping shoppers. This is a great opportunity to meet your East Bay neighbors and volunteer for a good cause. In its 11th year, The Plant Exchange creates strong neighborhood connections by people-to-people redistribution of green materials back into the community. It’s free and it’s fun, so come on out! You're going to be outside all day so make sure to wear plenty of sun screen and to dress accordingly to the weather! Times for meeting behind the RAW and departing are as follows: 8:00am- Leave by 7:25am 11:00am- Leave by 10:20am 2:00pm- Leave by 1:45pm
