Laureates and Leaders: Fair Share for Children

The Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation is hosting its third “Laureates and Leaders’” summit, “Fair Share for Children,” from 8-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9 and from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10. Quinnipiac students, faculty and staff are invited to attend this free virtual conference, which will highlight the situation facing vulnerable and exploited children during and beyond COVID-19. To date, the world’s most marginalized children have received little dedicated support to protect them during this pandemic, and to secure their futures beyond it. The speakers include: His Holiness the Dalai Lama; His Excellency Stefan Löfven, prime minister of Sweden; Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, DG, World Health Organization; His Excellency Gordon Brown, UN special envoy for global education and former prime minister of the United Kingdom; Guy Ryder, DG, International Labor Organization; Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Peace Laureate 2014; Leymah Gbowee, Nobel Peace Laureate 2011; Tawakkol Karman, Nobel Peace Laureate 2011; Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Laureate 2006; Jody Williams, Nobel Peace Laureate 1997; His Excellency José Ramos Horta, former president of Timor Leste and Nobel Peace Laureate 1996; Peter Kwasi Kodjie, SG, All-Africa Student Union; and Dr. Musarrat Maisha Reza, chairperson, Commonwealth Students’ Association.
