Duke Gardens - Harvest Festival 🌿

This event features fun family activities, such as seed planting, composting, a tropical fruit tasting, storytelling, and corn necklace making. It takes place at the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden. Volunteer Roles: • Trolley Cart shuttle drivers: (1-2 volunteers needed) (noon-4:30 pm) drive trolleys to transport community partners prior and after the event, roam Gardens during the event to transport visitors and attendees to where they need to go. This is simply helping transport, no tour giving required. • Wayfinders: (2-3 volunteers needed) (12:30-3:30 pm) Greet attendees and direct them to and at entry of Brody Discovery Garden to welcome them to the Harvest Fest. Volunteers will be stationed outside the Visitor Center and near the Welch Woodland Overlook to point out location of the festival and other Gardens attractions and distribute self-guided activities, etc. • Activity table Helpers: (8-10 volunteers needed) (noon-4:30 pm) Assist at craft and activity tables for families. Seed planting, corn necklace making, mailbox art, mud play, fruit tasting. • Welcome table/Membership greeters: (1-2 volunteers needed) (12:30-4:30 pm) Greet attendees and inform them about membership benefits; count # of attendees and assist Membership staff as needed. **Snacks and refreshments will be provided for event volunteers inside the tobacco barn.
