Your favorite nature do-gooder event is back, but this time it is a recruitment event as well! We will be going to the Shepherd Nature Trail to clean signs, brush up unauthorized trails, clear debris from streams near bridge crossings, and spruce up the picnic shelter. All this work goes to maintaining this trail that helps thousands of visitors and students who visit each year learn about Piedmont forest ecosystems. Like how awesome is it to help maintain 7,000 out of the 8,691 acres that Duke owns (personally I wasn't aware of this ratio until writing this)?! Bring: Close toed shoes, long pants that can be tucked into socks (tick prevention best practices), and a water bottle (hydrate or diedrate)!
