Meals on Wheels West provides nutritious meals and a daily visit to people who are homebound and unable to shop and cook for themselves permanently or temporarily. Volunteers will help to prevent poor nutrition isolations by delivering more than a meal to people of all ages and incomes. What to expect for this fun service event: - As an "Adopt-a-Day Delivery Driver," you will be delivering nutritious meals and Wellness Checks to our homebound neighbors in need. -An Adopt-a-Day Volunteer adopts a route one day a week (but not a specific route). -The day chosen will be the same each week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday), and you will be assigned whichever route opens up that day. Volunteers love this because of the variety and getting to see different members of the community. -You will deliver hot lunches, sandwiches, milk, juice, fruit, and frozen meals (on select days). Each route has an average of 10-15 homebound clients who would otherwise be food insecure.
