Would you be able to give up your bed for ONE NIGHT... to raise awareness and funds for the many homeless individuals and families in Los Angeles? Homeless Health Care Los Angeles and the Association of Student Social Worker are partnering together to host an educational community event where Cal State LA students build a temporary "Box City" to raise awareness and funds to support homeless families and individuals in the Los Angeles area. Participants will create a city of cardboard box shelters, which will become their "home" for the evening. Over the course of the night they will experience what it is like to sleep outside while they participate in educational activities, hear speakers, and engage in activities designed to raise awareness about the needs of the homeless population.
