Shawn introduced Zizwe ("Mr. Z") to APO, and he would love to continue working with us. He runs a community-based organization called YO! Program Eastside, which tutors teenagers and young adults who had to drop out of high school but are now studying/learning in order to pass their GED exams (high school diploma equivalent) to provide them with better job opportunities with livable wages. Many of these people are trying to raise kids or work jobs at the same time, so they could really use our help! We recognize that morning service events are difficult to make, due to classes, but if you are available weekly for any 1-hr shift, he and the GED students would greatly appreciate tutoring in any and all subjects! Mr. Z will let you know during the session what topic the student needs to work on, and you will be responsible for coming up with practice problems/teaching them. You MUST be able to have your camera on, and an iPad is optional but would help a lot! Note - if you sign up, Mr. Z requests that you attend regularly, as this is needed to develop rapport with the students.
