Community Partner: Guardian Angel Church Systemic Issue Addressed: Lack of after school programming for enrichment and mentorship for Remington youth How you are helping: RHWC is a tutoring and mentoring project that we do at the Church of the Guardian Angel in Remington. Children range from 1st-8th grade and tutors typically work with 1 or 2 kids each session. Homework is done in the first half hour if there is any to be done. We then play games or work on structured art projects. From approximately 6-6:30 we serve dinner, to both kids and mentors. In the last hour children can access the gym for free play. Afterwards we walk them home in groups and we come back to campus. PLEASE NOTE: This project REQUIRES consistent attendance, these children are coming from particularly rough home situations and need relationships that provide them with consistent and reliable guidance/mentorship.
