How you are helping: Art Brigade volunteers help elementary school kids express their creativity by supplementing programming at two Living Classrooms after-school centers with weekly art projects. Working through a variety of medium, we guide students through the creative process of starting a project, using personal creativity for designs, and finishing a project. Through art, we aim to provide for students a positive lens through which they view their surroundings. We believe that the skills learned through creation, especially at such a young age, can aid in student's development and broaden their ways of thinking about their neighborhood, city, and wider world.
