Who is United Workers?
United Workers is a human rights organization working towards fair development in the city!
http://www.unitedworkers.org/
What about the Baltimore Housing Roundtable?
The United Workers initiated the Baltimore Housing Roundtable in 2013 to bring together homeowners, renters and people with the experience of homelessness, nonprofit developers, community associations, religious institutions, police experts and university faculty, around the human rights values of universality, equity, participation, transparency, and accountability.

It has become a coalition with the mission of realizing a Baltimore City where everyone has the right to housing that is affordable, habitable, secure and accessible, and the right to equitable economic and community development.
But what exactly is the 20/20 Vision?
We are calling for investment in our neighborhoods! We are asking the City to dedicate funds:
$20 Million annually for permanently affordable housing through community land trusts and
$20 Million annually to create jobs for Baltimore residents deconstructing vacant property and doing greening and urban agriculture.
What has happened in the campaign so far?
We have received over 150 endorsements from organizations, elected officials, and individuals.
Last year, we did a ballot initiative to get an Affordable Housing Trust Fund in Baltimore (it passed with 83% of the vote!) We are building a citywide structure to support CLT development and building permanently affordable housing efforts in neighborhoods.
Where do we need help?
What: Phone-Banking and Data Entry!
Where: 2640 St. Paul Street. Baltimore, MD 21224
When: Every Tuesday Evening from 4 - 8pm (in October and November)
Why: We are gathering petition signatures from Baltimore City residents who support the campaign. Our goal is 20,000 signatures! Now, we are engaging in some phone banking to get back in touch with those folks, hear their stories, and engage them more deeply in the 20/20 Vision Effort!
Please bring your laptops and cell phones! We use an online calling system and we can get everyone set up if we receive their emails ahead of time. We will provide snacks and have brief trainings so that volunteers can familiarize themselves with the phone script and ask any questions!
