Mapping For Social Good - Tobler's Fall Mapathon

Date: Nov 21, 2019 at 5:00pm to 7:00pm
The Tobler Society, in partnership with our national YouthMappers organization, is hosting our flagship Mapping for Social Good event, supporting the urgent mapping of buildings affected by Typhoon Hagibis in Japan. We teach you how to use recent satellite imagery to mark the locations of buildings and roads in affected areas. Your map edits are then uploaded to OpenStreetMap, where they will help residents and decision-makers navigate the disaster areas. All you need to bring is a laptop, and we'll show you how to create an OpenStreetMap account and start mapping! As a service-oriented event, the Tobler Society can credit any community service hours you might need. For dinner, Japanese food will be provided by Shinju Sushi.
