TRAINING is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12. A one-time training is mandatory. WORKSHOP is Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 AM to 4 PM held at RAICES - Midway Tower, 4230 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy #225, Dallas 75244; https://www.raicestexas.org. PACKET PICK-UP is Saturday, October 12 at 10 AM at the Law Office of Paul Zoltan - 8610 Greenville, Dallas 75243. Packet Pick-Up items to accomplish: 1) Review with each of the participants in the earlier clinic corrections to any mistakes that technical review has revealed; 2) Copy the applications and address envelopes for filing; and 3) Prepare (that is, print, number, copy, and tab) or help to prepare packets of documents pertaining to relevant patterns of human rights abuses. (Printing, numbering, copying, and tabbing done before the follow-up.) Technical Review is held at Paul Zoltan’s law office after the workshop and before the packet pickup. The technical review’s mission is as follows: each of the asylum applications that were completed in the workshop on Sept. 14 needs to undergo “technical review” before it can be returned to the applicant for filing at the Saturday Packet Pick-up (held on October 12). Translation assistance is needed. If you are fluent in Spanish and can assist with translating original documents such as birth certificates and police reports. Documents needing translation will be emailed the week after the workshop and need to be completed prior to packet pick-up. This aspect of the project is done entirely through email.
