The Central Student Government (CSG) would like to invite Alpha Phi Omega to participate in a competition to see which professional fraternity/sorority, honor society, or academic club is able to generate the most donations for their free textbook shelf. This will be a great opportunity for our organization to help others and grow a meaningful initiative focused on sustainability and accessibility. Each year so many textbooks are used once and then discarded, rather than allowing this cycle to perpetuate, CSG encourages students to donate textbooks, test prep books, etc. to us in order to stock their free textbook shelf located in the UgLi. They are collecting iclicker and calculator donations, as well. The winning organization will receive free Washtenaw Dairy Donuts at their next meeting/chapter! You can personally drop off materials at the CSG office, located on the third floor of the Union, and send me (Elise) a picture of your drop-off, or you can drop them off with me at chapter and I will deliver them upstairs! If you are dropping them off yourself, please inform the person working the front desk that you are from Alpha Phi Omega if you would like them to track the donation for the donuts competition. The competition is running until Tuesday, November 22nd, after which CSG will notify all participating organizations of the winner. For each textbook/prep book/iclicker/calculator/etc. that you donate you will receive 0.5 service hours. If dropping off separately, please email me the picture at ehocking@umich.edu and tell me how many items you dropped off!
