Volunteer with Washtenaw Refugee! This is a great opportunity to get involved in the community. Below is a description of the volunteer opportunity: Assistance with applications. We regularly talk to families who are filling out subsidized housing applications, SNAP applications, school forms, etc. Many of these are straight forward for proficient English speakers or someone who has filled one out before, but are daunting for our families. If you are willing to help walk families through these applications over the phone, we can connect you with folks who just need a little help. If you are interested in this event, contact Maryam @ mtout@umich.edu and she will be able to set you up with the necessary information to participate. Once you have contacted her and completed a volunteering session, send a screen shot of the emails between you and Maryam for confirmation of the completion of the event.
