Brown v. The Board of Education: The Legacy Continues

Cheryl Brown Henderson will speak to the audience regarding the experiences she faced in relation to the landmark case. Cheryl Brown Henderson is a name recognized by many in America today and in American History. One of three children born to Oliver Brown, Brown-Henderson and her family, with the help of the Topeka NAACP, became the lead plaintiffs in the landmark Supreme Court case known as “Brown vs Board of Education of Topeka. The decision in this case sent ripple effects across the country. Schools were able to integrate at the conclusion of this case. What Brown-Henderson and her family had to endure from those who were against the decision is unimaginable. The decision of the Brown v Board of Education case is considered a major milestone in the Civil Rights Movement. Cheryl Brown Henderson is a wonderful speaker to speak about her experiences related to civil rights and social justice.
