Many Stories, One Michigan: Sharing. Connecting. Building Community.

Date: Jan 20, 2020 at 1:00pm to 4:00pm
This event will begin with a screening of Me, the “Other” (www.metheotherfilm.com). This is a documentary film about the inner and outer lives of twelve college students at U-M and nearby schools, living on the frontlines of prejudices around race, ethnicity, religion, gender, class, age, physical and mental health, and sexual orientation. We will follow the film with a panel discussion, with representation from students, staff, and faculty, exploring ways to improve inclusiveness and equity in the College of Engineering. All event participants will then be invited to a catered reception, including an interactive wall where you can share your own stories’ contributions to our rich, diverse Michigan community and your ideas for strengthening our community and improving its inclusiveness and equity. 1:00-2:30 PM – Screening of the documentary film, Me the “Other” 2:30-3:15 PM – Panel Discussion 3:15-4:00 PM – Mixer Remember to fill out the Leadership Event Follow-Up Survey form to receive your leadership point! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe53y_cYfOWs5V5WL1l_UtVuuOH6opX8rqDZfyX5YslOw6TBQ/viewform
