Diversity in Dermatology: Our past, present, and future

Dr. Nada Elbuluk is a clinical assistant professor at USC Department of Dermatology, Keck School of Medicine. She is directs the department’s Skin of Color Program & Pigmentary Disorders Clinic, the Skin of Color Research Fellowship, as well as the Dermatology Diversity & Inclusion Program. In her keynote lecture, Dr. Elbuluk will discuss the history of diversity of dermatology, the current national landscape of diversity in dermatology, and what’s been going at the American Academy of Dermatology level. She will discuss the diversity champion program as well as the work she has done to build a diversity and inclusion program at NYU and USC. Dr. Elbuluk will explore why diversity is an important issue and will examine many other relevant issues such as cultural competence and unconscious bias.
