Knitwits Club Interest List

Date: Feb 4, 2019 at 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Please fill out this Google form if you are interested in joining Knitwits Club this semester: https://goo.gl/forms/PgiGIWszLDleNXB23 Knitwits Club is an opportunity to get more involved with Knitwits, increase your knitting ability, and give back more to the community. Knitwits club is open to pledges and actives as well as knitters of all abilities. As a part of the Knitwits club, you can sign out a knitting project/bag and work on it until it is finished. You can bring your knitting to Chapter, Knitwits events, and even work on it at home. Every hat/scarf that you complete will be counted as 2 additional hours of service, and you will get hours for working on it during Chapter and at Knitwits. This is to encourage members of the club to work on projects outside of Knitwits events and get more projects done. For example, if you are a part of the Knitwits club and to finish your hat, you work on it for 1 hour at Chapter, 4 hours at Knitwits, and some time at home. You would be given 7 hours of service, with 5 hours coming from participating in Knitwits events and 2 hours coming from completing your project. (Reach out to Fiona (fehn@umich.edu) if you have any questions about service hour allocations). To join the Knitwits club, you must first attend 3 weekly Knitwits events and sign out a bag, where you will sign a contract saying that you will not lose the bag, and if you do, you will owe Knitwits $15 for materials and get docked 2 hours. We don’t anticipate this being an issue, but we need to have the contract signed for liability. After you join the Knitwits club, you must come to at least 3 weekly Knitwits and 2 weekend events before the end of the semester in order to complete the club requirements and be able to join the club next semester. If your schedule conflicts with weekly Knitwits, please come talk to us and we can figure something out :)
