The Michigan Science Center located in midtown Detroit is looking for volunteers to maintain their bioswale (landscape element designed to concentrate or remove silt and pollution from surface runoff water - I had to look it up)! The center is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays, and during those times they want volunteers to come and help weed and do maintenance around the bioswale so they can continue their great educational science programs and sustainability efforts! They would like us to come anytime between 9 and 3 for 2-3 hours, so email me (elbo@umich.edu) if you would like to come but request a specific time and we will try to work something out!
