Food Gatherers - Community Kitchen

Date: Oct 27, 2017 at 5:00pm to 7:30pm
The Community Kitchen is a part of Food Gatherers that provides breakfast for shelter guests (7 days a week) and weekday lunches and dinners and weekend mid-day meals for anyone in need. For this shift, you will be serving meals to anyone in need and then cleaning up the kitchen afterwards. If this your first time volunteering in the kitchen, please arrive 10 minutes early. There will be a brief orientation in order to teach you the basics. Wear kitchen-appropriate clothing: no sleeveless shirts or tank tops and wear sensible non-slip shoes with closed toes (no open-toed shoes or sandals). Also, bring a hat, bandanna or scarf to cover your hair (no matter what length). Additionally, hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back before putting on your hat/head covering. However, the Community Kitchen provides hairnets if you prefer those.
