Love A Park Day – Beckley Park

Date: Nov 6, 2025 at 3:00pm to 5:00pm
Join us for Love a Park Day at Beckley Park on Thursday, November 6, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm! Together, we’ll help beautify this neighborhood park by cutting back shrubs encroaching on the bocce ball court and weeding both the bocce and horseshoe areas to create a more pleasant experience for players. What to expect: Tasks include trimming shrubs, pulling weeds, using hand tools, and light cleanup Some walking to reach work areas; terrain may be uneven in spots Natural hazards may include thorny plants, poison ivy, ticks, and stinging insects What to wear and bring: Long pants, tall socks, and closed-toe shoes A reusable water bottle Weather-appropriate clothing (layers, rain gear if needed) Optional: your own gloves (we will provide gloves, tools, and training) About Beckley Park: Beckley Park is a 3-acre neighborhood park on Ann Arbor’s north side, located along Argo Drive near Pontiac Trail. The park features a play structure, swings, a horseshoe pit, and a bocce court, along with a sloping hill used in winter for sledding and paved paths connecting to nearby streets. Your volunteer efforts will help keep these recreation areas safe, attractive, and enjoyable for all.
